Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how fairhub.ca ("PUQ Software", "PUQ", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites and the Client Portal. It is part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your browser or device. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels. Together we refer to them as "cookies" in this Policy.

Cookies can be:

  • First-party — set by the PUQ Software site you are visiting.
  • Third-party — set by another domain (e.g., a payment processor).
  • Session — deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent — kept on your device for a set period.

Categories of cookies we use

We classify cookies as follows. Categories marked Strictly Necessary are used by default; all other categories are activated only with your consent (where consent is required).

1. Strictly Necessary (always on)

These cookies are required for the site and the Client Portal to function. Without them, basic features like login, billing, and ticket submission do not work.

Cookie Purpose Provider Duration
WHMCSUser / WHMCSUserID Client Portal authentication and session PUQ Software (WHMCS) Session
PHPSESSID Server-side session identifier PUQ Software Session
cf_clearance Cloudflare bot challenge / DDoS protection cloudflare.com Up to 30 days
__cf_bm Cloudflare bot management cloudflare.com 30 minutes
cookieconsent_status Records your cookie-consent choice PUQ Software 12 months

These cookies do not require consent under the EU ePrivacy Directive (and its national implementations) or PIPEDA, because they are strictly necessary for a service explicitly requested by you.

2. Functional (consent-based)

These cookies remember choices you make to give you a better experience (e.g., language, currency, dashboard layout).

Cookie Purpose Provider Duration
currency Preferred display currency PUQ Software 12 months
language Preferred language PUQ Software 12 months

3. Analytics (consent-based)

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage of our websites (page visits, traffic sources, basic device information) and to improve the Services. Analytics cookies are activated only with your consent through the cookie banner.

Cookie Purpose Provider Duration
_ga Distinguishes unique visitors (Google Analytics 4) google-analytics.com 2 years

__utma / __utmb / __utmc / __utmt / __utmz Classic Google Analytics (urchin) — visitor / session / campaign tracking google-analytics.com session — 2 years

Data sent to Google Analytics may be processed in the United States and other countries where Google operates. Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymisation where supported. Google's data-protection terms and transfer mechanisms apply: https://policies.google.com/privacy

We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google AdSense, Criteo, or other third-party advertising trackers.

4. Advertising / Marketing

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising.

5. Payment-Provider Cookies (during checkout)

When you go to a Stripe-hosted payment page, Stripe sets cookies on its own domains (stripe.com, js.stripe.com) to prevent fraud and process the payment. These are governed by Stripe's own cookie notice. We do not control them.

Your choices

In our cookie banner

When you first visit one of our websites you see a cookie banner. You can:

  • Accept all — enables Strictly Necessary + Functional + Analytics (Google Analytics) cookies. We do not enable any advertising cookies, because we do not use them.
  • Reject non-essential — only Strictly Necessary cookies are set; Google Analytics is not loaded.
  • Cookie settings — choose categories individually.

You can change your choice at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the website footer.

In your browser

You can also manage cookies in your browser. Most browsers allow you to delete cookies, block cookies from specific sites, or block all cookies. Note that blocking Strictly Necessary cookies will break the Client Portal.

Browser instructions:

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a Do Not Track (DNT) signal. Because there is no industry consensus on how to interpret DNT, we do not currently respond to DNT signals. We respect the cookie-banner choice you make, regardless of your DNT setting.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

Where required by law (for example, under the California Privacy Rights Act), we honour the Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out request for sale or sharing of personal information. We do not currently sell or share personal information, so there is no further opt-out needed.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when our cookie usage changes. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
